Following on from our trip to South Korea, we are tipping a financial stock listed in Seoul. Korea remains a vibrant market and we have already previously tipped Korea gaming stock Krafton [KRX:259960] as a company to watch. But this new tip looks even more exciting.
South Korea is home to a number of very dynamic companies that have been hived off from its chaebols, the industrial conglomerates that helped support the growth of the country's economy from the 1950s onwards. Since the late 1990s, for a variety of reasons, the chaebols have been breaking up, but the parts can often be greater than their parents.
In the case of this company, some very successful financial operations have rebranded and charted their own course following their departure from under the corporate umbrella of one of Korea's bigger chaebols. This company is still rated as one of the highest quality financial holding companies in Asia.
We are seeing a strong momentum opportunity here, with shares up 77% on a YTD basis and a staggering 736% in the last five years.
