Here are three things you need to know in the financial markets this morning from investment writer, Tony Cross.
#1. CleanTech Lithium ops update on drilling
CleanTech Lithium [LON:CLT] has this morning published an operations update following its recent admission to AIM. The company is aiming to produce low or zero emissions Lithium and notes that early drilling operations are proceeding well, in line with management expectations. Early assay results won’t however be due until some point in Q2 and the output here will be critical in clarifying resource estimates.
#2. Wizz Air March passenger figures soar
Eastern European low-cost airline Wizz Air LON:WIZZ continues to see passenger numbers improve apace following COVID shut downs last year, with the war in Ukraine evidently providing little drag to the company. The airline continues to expand its footprint, adding destinations as far afield as Sri Lanka and whilst capacity is up 274% on where it was in March 2021, load factors are up 416%. That means a lot less chance of an empty seat next to you, but CO2 emissions have been reduced by 23% as a result.
#3. Record Emerald auction prices posted for Gemfields Group
Miner Gemfields Group [LON:GEM] has posted record auction results – both in terms of total bid and average price per carat – for a sale of emeralds mined by Kagem in Zambia. This follows a trend which the company first flagged in August 2021 when it noticed a step change in demand and prices which customers were willing to pay. The quest for stores of value in 2022 clearly runs well beyond the world of NFTs.
