Defiance Silver Corp (TSXV:DEF) is a Canadian-listed silver explorer, focusing on two projects in Mexico, at Zacatecas and Tepal. The team at Defiance is led by CEO and chairman Chris Wright and has a seasoned mining team behind him, including Qualified Person George Cavey, former VP of exploration at Orko Silver.
Cavey was part of the team that discovered 264mm oz at the La Preciosa deposit which was sold to Coeur Mining in 2013 for $380m. He is considered one of the leading Canadian geoscientists.
Defiance Silver currently has the option to acquire 100% of a project within the proven Zacatecas silver camp with a current initial resource of 16.9mm oz based on 44 holes and 10,200m of drilling. The main projects are San Acacio and Lagartos, sited on the Veta Grande and Mala Noche vein systems. Defiance told us they had seen significant intersections outside of the current resource, and that base metals have not been tabled as part of previous resource estimates at the site.
