Small business investment house IW Capital has launched their new EIS Portfolio Service, allowing access to investment into the UK’s wealth of high-growth SMEs through the EIS.

The service will cater to both advisers and private investors with a simple transparent fee structure providing investors the ability to claim tax relief on the full investment amount. Launched after considerable demand from IFAs, the service will allow easier routes to investment in a fast growing sector of the UK economy for clients looking to diversify their portfolios with high-growth private companies.

IW Capital is an established firm in the EIS (enterprise investment scheme) space dealing with growing businesses since 2010 and facilitating over £55 million worth of EIS qualifying funding for UK-based SMEs. The investment team is made up from individuals with over 50 years’ experience in dealing with investments in the SME arena, including those that have run successful businesses themselves in the past.

  • There is also an ability to deploy funds quickly across five current EIS qualifying companies with these likely to be invested by the end of October 2019 with EIS3 certificates likely to be available in January 2020. The target portfolio allocation over 12 months is five companies.
  • Minimum investment of £10,000 for the Self-Select service where qualifying investors have the ability to build a portfolio of individual EIS companies.
  • Minimum investment for the Investment Management Facility of £10,000 with allocation across at least four investee companies

Luke Davis – CEO and founder of IW Capital – said of the service:

“We are hugely excited to be launching the service on the back of overwhelming demand from IFAs to provide a managed service for clients looking for high-growth opportunities with tax efficiency through the EIS. We have made the offering as simple, clear, fair and not misleading as possible and by offering co-investment with our private clients who are experienced seasoned professionals we hope to deliver the best possible growth outcomes for all of the portfolio companies backed through the service. We have seen more demand than ever before, both from our investor base and in terms of deal flow, and so we feel this comes at an ideal time to launch. With the addition of this service, IW Capital will be looking to deploy in excess of £100m into UK-based growth companies over the next three years. ”
