Equipmake Holdings: a small cap bus electrification specialist

*

Equipmake Holdings [AQSE:EQIP] is a UK-based technology company which has developed a range of electrification products for the provision of electric vehicle drivetrains to meet the needs of the automotive, aerospace and other sectors, supporting the transition from fossil-fuel to zero emission powertrains.

The Aquis-listed stock (July 2022) has been flying somewhat under the radar at a time when there is increased investor focus on companies developing solutions for the next generation transport sector.

Sustainable vehicle electrification solutions

Equipmake Holdings says its vision is to develop sustainable and cost-effective electrification solutions as well as making e-mobility safer, faster and more efficient, as well as more reliable and affordable. The company has the capability to design and prototype all motor types, but its initial focus has been on the bus sector. It has secured contracts for retrofitting existing buses currently in service in additional to supplying its electric drivetrains to a new bus OEM.

The company won the Insider's Made in Central and East England Automotive Award and the Thetford Business Innovation Award in 2020. It has also recently invested in a four axis Mazak VCN430A vertical machining centre which it says should enable the manufacturing of prototype components in-house, reducing lead times for development.
