Armchair Trader Pick: Tactical Trading

  • Interfor (TSX:IFP)
  • Sector: Basic Materials (Paper & Forest Products)
  • Market cap: GBP 1.36bn
  • Entry price: CAD 37.73
  • All time high: CAD 44.56 (January 2022)

There is an element of solidity to Interfor (TSX:IFP) which seems to have Canadian investors flocking to their forestry stock. If there is one thing Canada has a lot of, its timberlands, and Interfor has established itself as one of the largest producers of lumber on the planet. It has a combined manufacturing capacity of over a billion board feet of lumber which it sells globally.

The market in Canada looks generally bullish on Interfor and indeed the rest of its sector. We'll be looking in more detail at some competitor stocks in this space next week, so make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter to get that report when it comes out.
