This week on the podcast we have Tim Corcoran of Master Investor, who talks us through what investors can expect from the 2023 edition of The Master Investor Show. Yes, it’s that time of year again, and The Armchair Trader will be in attendance with a booth and members of the core team to talk to. We are also hoping to be be able to demo some new investor data.
Last year was the first Master Investor Show since the pandemic. While many traders have become used to hearing from CEOs virtually during lockdown, The Master Investor Show 2022 was a welcome opportunity to catch up with numerous listed companies in person. Located at the Business Design Centre in Islington, it boasts a schedule that has something for everyone, from absolute beginners to family offices and all points in between.
The Master Investor Show: Saturday 15th April 2023, Business Design Centre, London. Doors open at 9.15. Register here using the code ARMCHAIR for your free ticket.
Among those presenting will by Poolbeg Pharma LON:POLB, Bloomsbury Publishing LON:BMY and portfolio managers at JP Morgan. And one of the show’s favourite speakers, entrepreneur Jim Mellon, who is also executive director of Agronomics LON:ANIC. There is also going to be a pre-IPO zone, reflecting a stronger interest from investors in early stage investments including those suitable for EIS portfolios.
On the podcast we provide investors with a sneak preview from Tim on what to expect on the day. While last year’s show was impressively attended, we still got the impression that many investors stayed away because of fears of the still latent Covid pandemic. This year we think the show will be busy, if smaller events we’ve been to recently are anything to go by.
Stuart Fieldhouse, co-founder of The Armchair Trader, will also be on one of the early panels on small cap investing, sharing our experiences over the last few years of running a virtual portfolio of smaller companies and venture stocks. Be sure to be there early to catch that. If you are an Armchair Trader reader and would like a free ticket, be sure to register in advance, and use the code ARMCHAIR to secure your place. Tickets on the door on the day will be £25.
If you are a listed company or fund manager interested in exhibiting at the show, Tim tells us there are still a few slots left, but they are going fast!
But this podcast is not just about the upcoming Master Investor Show. Tim and I also discuss some of the big trends we are both seeing in the investment world. This includes the pricing of mining stocks and the mining sector in general, precious metals, and sentiment around the IPO market.
We also chat about the way digital assets are changing and will change the way smaller investors interact with the market, and get Tim’s views on how these can provide a cheap road into alternative investments as well.
