Having spent the bulk of the session underwater, London’s AIM All Share is making progress as we file earlier than usual today. Optimism that US markets will bound higher at the open as recession fears across the Atlantic have been allayed off the back of upbeat economic data is the driver here, with the Index sitting just over one point higher at 2pm.
- Artemis Resources +68%
- Distil +50%
- Kazera Global +18%
- Accesso Technology -29%
- Quantum Blockchain -23%
Artemis Resources [LON:ARV] topped the chart at our early copy time of 2pm following the publication of assay results this morning. These painted a notably upbeat picture including higher than normal yields and the fact that the reserves could be far more widespread than had been thought initially. Shares were up 68%, although that’s below the gains seen in early trade.
The boutique spirist producer Distil LON:DIS advanced 50% today, reversing some of Wednesday’s losses as investors – including Dr Graham Cooley – swooped in. There are fundamental challenges for the business but the confidence here is being priced in.
Accesso Technology LON:ACSO was the biggest faller, off 29%. A trading statement issued this morning saw full year revenue forecasts being downgraded. The move comes despite a commitment to conserve cash and the fact that the company has a $20m+ cash position.
Quantum Blockchain LON:QBT was in second to last position at copy time, off 23%. An R&D and business development update published this morning evidently left some investors feeling as if they have been short changed, which seems a bit rough given the narrative. However, volumes are showing a significantly elevated and the spread accounts for the bulk of the move.
- UK Stock Market News: Balfour Beatty, Quantum Blockchain, L&G
- Small Cap Stocks: Quantum Blockchain, Arkle Resources, Chariot O&G
Kazera Global LON:KZG gets the notable mention up 18%. The company this morning announced it had received a national nuclear certification in Soth Africa, enabling it to start minin heavy metal sands immediately.
That’s the small cap round up finished for the month. I’ll be back online at the start of September and thanks as always for reading!
