London’s AIM All Share index managed to scrape some modest gains by the close on Thursday, but the upside was less than half a point, reaching the bell at 731.87.
- RBG Holdings +38%
- Hummingbird Resources +30%
- Loungers +29%
- Beacon Energy -33%
- ADVFN -24%
RBG Holdings LON:RBG is topping the board, up 38% at the bell. There’s no news here and a wide spread is being quoted on the stock, but this move is starting to recover some of the losses posted off the back of interims released in late September. Volumes were notably elevated, too.
Hummingbird Resources LON:HUM was in second place, some 30% higher at the bell. The trading update released at the start of the month hit shares hard although a debt for equity swap is now lining up an investor as a potential buyer of the business.
- Small Cap Stocks: Hummingbird, LPA Group, Cadence Minerals
- Small Cap Stocks: Caledonian Trust, Quadrise, Hummingbird
Loungers LON:LGRS gets the notable mention today, up 30% in response to this morning’s news that management have agreed to sell the business to private equity. That’s despite the company also publishing bumper half year profit growth this morning, but perhaps reflects the latest set of hurdles the industry will now face with wage inflation front of mind for many.

- Three Quick Facts: Direct Line, Loungers, Dr Martens
Beacon Energy [LON:BCE] was the biggest faller, down 33% on the day. A corporate update published this morning offered some insight but ultimately, forced asset sales mean that the company is set to become a cash shell early in the new year.

- Small Cap Stocks: Oracle Power, Surface Transforms, Goldstone Resources
ADVFN LON:AFN was in second to last place, down 24%. There’s no news out, but trade has been lumpy and the stock is now sitting at six month lows.
