London’s AIM All Share index may have been rangebound but despite the broader economic narrative, managed to make some modest progress during the day, reaching the close up one and a half points at 736.62.
- Rockfire Resources +77%
- Fusion Antibodies +39%
- Surface Transforms +24%
- Oracle Power -31%
- Oxford Biodynamics -30%
Rockfire Resources LON:ROCK was the best performer on the day, up 77% by the bell. The company published a note this morning advising that China had banned all Germanium exports to the USA, something that could have significant consequences for the company’s 100% owned zinc mine in Greece. Germanium is seen as a potential by-product here, although there’s still more work to be done in assessing the rare earth content of this site.
Fusion Antibodies LON:FAB was 39% higher after noting grant funding approval had been secured. The money will be used by Fusion to cover human resource needs, materials/consumables costs and capital investment, and gives the company access to facilities, equipment, staff and expertise made available under the Grant.
- Small Cap Stocks: MicroSalt, N Brown, Cloudcoco
- Small Cap Stocks: Cloudcoco, Fusion Antibodies, Corcel
Surface Transforms LON:SCE was 24% higher to take the notable mention. It’s the second time this week the stock has made it onto our radar although the only news in play is a notification of an investor selling down a stake.
- Small Cap Stocks: Surface Transforms, Orcadian Energy, Tan Delta
- Small Cap Stocks: Oracle Power, Surface Transforms, Goldstone Resources
Oracle Power LON:ORCP was 31% lower on the day. Shares jumped at the start of the week in anticipation of a news release. That materialised this morning but seems to have been a trigger for many to book profits, using the buy the rumour, sell the fact approach. Volumes have been very high.
- Small Cap Stocks: Victoria, Proton Motors, Coro Energy
- Small Cap Stocks: Oracle Power, Surface Transforms, Goldstone Resources
Oxford Biodynamics LON:OBD was off 30%, in second to last place. As we noted yesterday, management ended up issuing a note last night regarding Tuesday’s share price movement and with no progress here, evidently profit takers came out in force. The stock is still up almost 50% from this time last week.
- Small Cap Stocks: i-nexus Global, Genip, Oxford Biodynamics
- Three Quick Facts: Oxford Biodynamics, Entain, Computacenter
*Note I see that last night I incorrectly referred to Oxford Biomedica LON:OXB, rather than Oxford Biodynamics. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
