Small Cap Stocks: Surface Transforms, Orcadian Energy, Tan Delta

Another day of gains for London’s AIM All Share but the headway was limited to less than half a point, leaving the index at 737.91 by the bell.

  • Surface Transforms +34%
  • Orcadian Energy +29%
  • Parkmead +28%
  • Tan Delta Systems -26%
  • Beowulf Mining -19%

Surface Transforms LON:SCE is the best riser, up 34% on the day. There’s no news here but volumes were somewhat elevated.

Orcadian Energy LON:ORCA added 29% by the bell. This morning management advised the market that terms for a farm out agreement had been reached, with the deal including the repayment of loans.

The notable mention goes to Parkmead Group LON:PMG which reached the closing bell up 28%, a far cry from the close on 70% rally posted this morning. The company has agreed the sale of some offshore licenses in a deal that could be worth well over £100m, many times its current market cap, but the arrangement is far from risk-free.

Tan Delta Systems [LON:TAND] was the biggest faller, off by 26%. A trading update published this morning was upfront in noting that order delays would mean full year revenues coming in below previous expectations.

Beowulf Mining LON:BEM was the second largest faller, off 19%. The stock continues to chase new lows but the volumes are thin and the spread is wide.
