A slightly less impressive day for the AIM All Share on Wednesday but at the bell, the junior index was less than a point off side at 754.05.
- Filtronic +46%
- Angle +27%
- Aptamer +21%
- Indus Gas -68%
- Ironveld -30%
Filtronic LON:FTC soared to the top of the board today off the back of a trading update that upgraded the outlook for the next two years and news of a significant contract win with SpaceX, which included the option for Musk’s company to acquire 10% of the business. Shares were 46% ahead at 4.30pm
Angle LON:AGL was in second place, 27% higher. The company announced a new commercial agreement with AstraZeneca LON:AZN this morning and whilst the initial 6 month development phase is worth just £150k, this has finally given investors something to cheer after a disappointing start to the year.
Aptamer LON:APTA gets the notable mention with news of stake building arguably lending some support here. Shares were up 21% at the close.
- UK Stock Market News: Filtronic, Likewise, Johnson Matthey
- Small Cap Stocks: Indus Gas, VAST Resources, Beximco
- Small Cap Stocks: Indus Gas, Futura Medical, Jersey Oil & Gas
Indus Gas LON:INDI was the biggest faller, off 68%. There’s no news here but a marked uptick in volumes was seen in the latter part of the session with no news to justify the slide.
Ironveld LON:IRON was the second worst performer, off 30%, with news of a very modest borrowing facility this morning doing little to provide any meaningful cheer for investors. Borrowing £125k at 11% pa over 6 months, along with a 2.5% fee arguably isn’t that bad, but this is a bet on facilitating a future capital raise
