SmallCap Round Up: Mobilityone, Light Science Technology, Enteq

Reassuring in a way to see that since our last small cap roundup, the AIM All Share has barely moved. At the bell on Wednesday, the index sat less than half a point lower, losing a little momentum in the wake of the US market open and sitting at 758.48.

  • Mobilityone +41%
  • Light Science Technology +24%
  • Enteq +9%
  • Aptamer Group -29%
  • Gfinity -24%

MobilityOne LON:MBO topped the board, up 41% on the day. The stock found support last week off hopes that a joint venture with TETE may be making some progress. Volumes were materially higher but lumpy trade saw the spread being pushed out to 18%.

Light Science Technology LON:LST added 24% on the day. The stock has seen some sharply elevated levels of interest in recent days, advancing off the back of stake building news by Dr Graham Cooley, the former CEO of ITM Power LON:ITM. Shares have now doubled in value since the end of last month but again the wide spread needs to be considered here,

The notable mention goes to Enteq LON:NTQ whose shares added 9% today off the back of positive test news from the use of a new drilling system. By mid-morning gains were a rather more impressive 35% but this proved unsustainable with at least some investors happy to book profits.

Aptamer Group LON:APTA was the day’s biggest faller, off some 29% at the close. The stock has lost some 98% of its value over the last year and even with some aggressive buying action being seen last week this seemingly remains a race to zero. The closing spread was in excess of 30% and the market cap is now just over £1m.

Gfinity LON:GFIN was the second biggest faller, off 24% on the day. That reflects news of a discounted funding round this morning. The money raised will be used to meet ongoing costs both of maintaining business operations and the cost of the AIM listing, but directors are targetuing cash break even within 6 months.
