Armchair Trader pick Sosandar [LON:SOS] came out with some bullish forecasts in July, saying it was seeing a strong start to its financial year. It said revenue had reached £11.4m over the three months to the end of June. This is 10% up on the same period last year.
Investors should also note that Sosandar has just completed its first full year of profitability - the company reported a profit for the year ending March 31 of this year. Powering these numbers are strong sales in summer occasionwear and holiday clothing. Both the company's website and its partner network have been seeing strong engagement from retail customers.
Sosandar bucks the trend in current Armchair Trader stock picking, which tends to steer off pure retail plays unless there is a strong asset valuation story. But Sosandar continues to benefit from a dynamic management team that has the sort of sure-footedness to steer a solid retail enterprise through tough economic times.
