John Foster has spent 20 years in the financial media sector, editing several newspapers, magazines and newswires and working as an analyst and in corporate communications. John joined the Financial Times after spending time in the asset management industry in marketing and product development and edited a publication on retail fund management for the group’s publishing business. He then edited a suite of magazines covering investment banking, private equity and hedge funds in Dubai, before returning to London and founding The Islamic Globe, a specialist publication on Islamic finance. John developed the Africa capital markets desk for Acuris, reporting from across the continent on debt markets and special situations.
John left Acuris, to co-found a renewable energy company, which he helped to list on the London Stock Exchange in 2020 and was managing director for an environmental facilitation and investment company developing an agricultural and waste-to-energy project in southern Africa. John is based in London and is fascinated by the untapped potential of the FTSE250 and AIM markets.
