Three things you need to know in the financial markets today from investment writer, Tony Cross.
#1. Lookers acquires car rental provider
Slim pickings as we return from the weekend break, but car retail and service group Lookers LON:LOOK has announced the acquisition of Fourways Vehicle Solutions this morning. This is a UK vehicle rental solutions firm that handles over 7,000 rentals annually and in 2022 had total income of £3.8m. Lookers sees significant opportunity for Fourways to grow its market share and to cater for Lookers own rental requirements at lower cost and with greater certainty.
#2. BATM FY results show impact of COVID hangover
BATM Advanced Communications [LON:BATM], the AIM listed provider of real time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratories has issued full year results this morning. Revenues are down a little over 10%, taking a commensurate hit on profitability, with the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic taking a toll on the business. Management believe that the momentum seen in the second half of FY22 is being sustained and will result in growth across all divisions of the company.
#3. Conroy Gold update on Irish drilling project
Conroy Gold LON:CGNR updated the market on drill results this morning, with gold intersections being found in the Longford-Down Massif where the company is currently drilling. This is the first of eight planned drill holes on the project and marks what management note is an excellent start to the programme.
