Three Quick Facts: Unilever, 888 and Computacenter

Three Quick Facts: Unilever, 888 and Computacenter

Three things you need to know in the financial markets today from investment writer, Tony Cross.

#1. Unilever’s new CEO announced

Unilever LON:ULVR has today announced the appointment of its new CEO, Hein Schumacher, who is currently CEO of the global dairy and nutrition business Royal FrieslandCampina. Hein became a Non-Executive Director of Unilever in October last year and will begin as Unilever CEO on 1 July 2023, after a one-month handover period. This follows the news last year that Alan Jope was to step down, following Unilever’s failed attempt to buy GSK.

#2. 888’s CEO exits

Itai Pazner, the CEO and Executive Director of 888 Holdings LON:888 is to leave the firm with immediate effect. There’s no replacement lined up so the group’s non-exec chair will assume an executive chair role whilst the search takes place. No further details regarding the departure are given so it could be a turbulent start for the 888 share price.

#3. Computacenter: strong finish to FY22

Computacenter LON:CCC has published a pre-close trading update for the year to 31st December. The company posted a record Q4 performance and a full year result which was slightly ahead of the guidance given in its Q3 trading update. The cash position is strong and management notes that it is carrying good momentum into FY23, where it plans to make significant investments. Further growth is anticipated.
