Synectics reports robust growth and important contract wins

AIM-listed Synectics LON:SNX, which provides advanced security and surveillance systems, said today it expects another year of robust growth, with trading for the year ending 30 November 2025 forecast to deliver revenues of around £67mn, up from £55.8mn last year.

Profit before tax, excluding share-based payment charges, is projected at no less than £5.7mn, compared with £4.7mn in FY2024.

The Sheffield-based company, which supplies sophisticated monitoring systems to sectors including energy, transport, and gaming, said momentum had remained firm through the year. It secured contract extensions and repeat orders from both long-standing and new customers across a broad geographical spread, and completed a one-off gaming project in South-East Asia that contributed significantly to the period’s performance.

Synectics has a refreshed growth strategy

The company said its performance reflected progress under a refreshed growth strategy unveiled last year. That plan focuses on scaling the business through targeted investment in product development, commercial capability and operational efficiency.

Synectics also said it expects to step up investment in 2026 to underpin longer-term expansion and capture opportunities emerging from shifts in global energy and infrastructure markets.

Management said the group’s order book continues to strengthen, providing good visibility into the next financial year. Demand remains solid in its core markets, while new business prospects are improving in areas aligned with decarbonisation and renewable energy.

The company highlighted that its recently announced contract wins in these sectors represent early success from efforts to diversify beyond traditional oil, gas and transport markets.

First contracts in renewables sector

As part of that diversification, Synectics has secured its first contracts in the renewables and industrial decarbonisation space — a move the board described as a “significant strategic milestone” in extending its technology into the wider energy transition. The new projects, due for delivery during FY2025 and FY2026, include contracts in industrial carbon capture and offshore wind energy.

The first, valued at £1.2mn, involves the supply of surveillance technology for a major carbon capture, transport and storage scheme in north-west England. The project forms part of a wider industrial decarbonisation initiative aimed at developing one of the world’s first low-carbon industrial clusters by 2030.

Synectics will provide its COEX camera systems and proprietary Synergy software, integrating radar, access control and intrusion detection technologies to enhance site security and operational visibility.

The company has also been awarded a contract to deliver COEX cameras for an offshore wind development in the Dutch and German sectors of the North Sea. The equipment will be installed on the first of several offshore substation platforms to ensure continuous monitoring of critical operations and personnel safety. The substations form part of a flagship renewables programme designed to transmit clean energy from offshore wind farms to onshore grids in the Netherlands and Germany.

Chief executive Amanda Larnder said the latest wins demonstrated Synectics’ ability to adapt its technologies for emerging markets.

“These initial contracts in renewables and decarbonisation represent important progress in broadening our energy portfolio,” she said. “Our tailored surveillance solutions will support pioneering projects driving the transition to clean energy, reinforcing our reputation for delivering reliable, integrated systems in mission-critical environments.”

With a healthy balance sheet, rising profitability and a clear strategy for growth, the board said it remains confident in Synectics’ outlook and in its capacity to deliver sustained value creation for shareholders.
